A sensation since it was first used in TV commercials for DeBeers Diamonds, Karl Jenkins’ ”Palladio” has featured on several international best-selling albums. Originally written for string orchestra, this Tony Small arrangement of Palladio is an ideal showpiece for brass quintet. The music is in Jenkins’s trademark style featuring a fusion of world and classical music styles.
This arrangement of ”Palladio” for brass quintet was written, with the composer’s permission, for the Hallé Brass. The first movement was performed, in the presence of the composer, on 14th July, 1997, at Cheriton Church, Llandmadoc, Swansea, in the Gower Festival.
